Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off

The City of Indianola works in conjunction with the South Central Landfill and the Metro Waste Authority to provide city and the county residents with a collection site for hazardous household material.
Items accpeted free of charge during normal Brush Facility hours of operation include: drain & oven cleaners, mercury thermometers, rechargeable batteries, weed killers, sharps, fluorescent light bulbs, gasoline & kerosene, mercury switches, rust removers, oil filters, oil & lead based paint, petroleum-based adhesives, compact fluorescent lamps, stain & varnish, aerosol cleaners, amonia-based cleaners, fertilizers & pesticides, and metal polishes.

Fall Cleanup

For a successful program, residents are asked to abide by the following program guidlines:
  • Only large items not hauled through weekly service.
  • No construction materials or railroad ties.
  • If you have items that are bulky and difficult to handle (such as swing sets) they must be cut up or dismantled into smaller pieces no longer than 4 feet.

MYSTERY DINNER SHOW

"AN AUDITION FOR A MURDER"  is an interactive, three course meal of mayhem, madness and murder.  Theater goers piece together clues during the meal and guess "who dunn it" as the accusations and clues fly around like "bats in a belfry".  The murder is solved just in time for a delicious dessert.  Meal courses served between acts.

Menu :  Beef tenderloin fillet marinated in La Vida Loca garlic wine, salad with pears and raspberries, warm bread, roasted baby potatoes with white wine cream sauce and asparagus.
For dessert:  creme brule with lemon curd topping and berry sauce.

$45.00 per person - paid reservations required by Wednesday, October 26th.

Doors open at 5:00 with the show to begin at 6:30.

Costumes optional both nights - actors will vote for the top female and top male winners.

Children's Costume Party & Parade



Wear your costume - children 10 & under could win a cool trophy for cutest, scariest or most creative costume in their age category!  Enjoy games & fall activities on the Warren County courthouse lawn, trick or treating, hayrides around The Square, take your photo with Captain America and SuperGirl of the Iowa League of Heroes, and Snow White, the Snow Queen and Arabian Princess from Little Princess Parties of Des Moines!

Register for the costume contest by 11:15 am, when we will line up for judging on the east side of The Square.  After judges have made their selections for scariest, cutest, and most creative costumes, we'll parade around The Square.  Prizes will be awarded immediately following the parade!

There will also be a doggie costume contest and pooch parade.  Judging is at 10:15 am followed by the parade at 10:30 am.

A repeat of last nights "AN AUDITION FOR A MURDER" an interactive night of mayhem, madness and murder but tonight accompanied by a splendid appetizer buffet to include:
