Healthiest State Annual Walk

This is the 4th consecutive year for the Healthiest State Annual Walk, with the goal of having Iowans in all 99 counties take part in 30 minutes of walking on October 3.

The Healthiest State Initiative is having weekly prize giveaways on Facebook. Like Iowa Healthiest Initiative to get stated.

Farm Crawl

Enjoy a leisurely autumn day between six unique small-family farms in south-central Iowa, one hour south of Des Moines, Iowa. 

The Farm Crawl will consist of barnyard animals, free-range eggs, honey, jams, beef, pork, lamb, chemical-free produce, apples, homemade fudge and candies, pumpkins, music, metal artwork, fall decor, sheep, mules, alpacas, antique tractors, and more!

Cancer Support Group

Has cancer or serious illness touched your life? A new group is forming to provide support.

Recently diagnosed? Undergoing treatment? Cancer survivor? Caregiver? Family or friends?

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is hosting a support group. Pastor Walz will lead a Bible study focusing on God's Word and  how we are strengthened and comforted through the forgiveness of sins offered by Jesus Christ. This comfort and hope is for you right now as you struggle with a serious illness. We will also facilitate developing meaningful relationships with others in our community who are facing a serious illness. All are invited to attend.

Children's Costume Party and Parade

Join us for a morning of fun fall activities and games on the lawn, hayrack rides, and photo ops! Little Princess Party and Iowa League of Heroes will be available to take pictures with as well! Trick or Treating will be available at businesses around The Square. Register for the costume contest between until 11:15 a.m., when costumes will be judged. We'll parade around the square, then winners will be awarded trophies at 11:30 a.m. Trophies provided by our presenting sponsor, Bob's Custom Trophies.
