Community Event

One of the most famous horror films of the Silent Era - The Phantom of the Opera, starring Lon Chaney – is celebrating its 100^th anniversary this year.  In honor of this milestone, Dr. John Benoit has created a new musical score for the film, which will be performed live by the Vivo Chamber Players – an 18-piece orchestra made up of Simpson College instrumental faculty and friends -  on Friday, January 31 at 7:00 pm in Smith Chapel on the Simpson College campus.  A second performance will take place on Saturday, February 1 at 7:00 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Des Moines.  Both performances are free and open to the public.  No tickets are required.
