Join us for a meaningful and practical conversation on how mental health and substance use impact today’s workforce—and what businesses can do to create stronger, healthier workplaces.
Hear from local experts and community leaders as they share real data, frontline experiences, and resources available right here in our community. You’ll gain insight into how mental health affects performance, attendance, relationships, and safety—and why addressing it matters for both your business and the broader community.
The Warren County Leadership Institute Class of 2026 will also share how they are supporting access to care through local partnerships, including work connected to free health clinics and community resources.
This session goes beyond discussion—you’ll collaborate with others to begin building a Mental Health Mission Statement for your organization, giving you something tangible to take back to your team.
You’ll leave with:
• A clearer understanding of workplace mental health challenges
• Awareness of local resources and support systems
• Practical ideas you can implement right away
• A starting point for a Mental Health Mission Statement
Stronger workplaces lead to stronger communities—and it starts with the conversations we have today.
Grab some friends, bring and appetite and your love for knowledge and beer.

But George cannot guard Lennie, a childlike giant of a man with a love for soft things, from the bullying of the ranch boss and his flirtatious yet unhappy young wife. Steinbeck’s timeless story—in the hands of the Dean of American Opera, Carlisle Floyd—becomes a superbly crafted opera of great beauty and power.

Steinbeck’s timeless novella Of Mice and Men becomes a superbly crafted opera of great beauty and power. George and Lennie are two migrant ranch workers who dream of owning an acre of land and a shack they can call their own.
Of Mice and Men is a Co-Production of Des Moines Metro Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Florida State University, and Lyric Opera of Kansas City.
