Grow Solar Warren County is offered by The Nature Conservancy in Iowa, Indianola Sustainability Committee, Warren County Economic Development, and the Cities of Indianola and Carlisle, and the Midwest Renewable Energy Association. Home and business owners throughout Warren County may participate in this program to help pool their buying power to secure significant discounts that make installing solar more affordable.

This year Friends of Warren County Conservation Board will hold the Prairie Picnic Auction online with Putney Auction.

To donate an item for the auction, visit this Website.

Auction items will be listed and available for bid September 12 - 29, 2020. 

All proceeds will benefit the redesign of the exhibit hall space at Annnett Nature Center.

You will need to set up a free online account at Putney Auction. So save the date and check out the Website and Facebook page for updates and a link to register to bid.

Ackworth Garden Club Big Pumpkin/Giant Sunflower Contest is Saturday, September 26, 2020 and is open to all children K - 12 who reside in Warren County.  Did you grow the biggest pumpkin or giant sunflower in the county over the summer? 

If you completed the online registration form by June 30, 2020, dropped off your completed form at McCoy True Value Hardware, and picked up your seed packets then find out by weighing and measuring your entry. 

Judging for the contest will be held at the Warren County Log Cabin Days festival at Warren County Fairgrounds, 1400 W. 2nd Ave., Indianola, with check-in from 11:15 a.m. - Noon. 

Judging will be completed and winners announced after check-in closes but no later than 12:30 PM.  Ribbons and premiums will be awarded.

  • Ackworth Garden Club Youth Container Gardening Class on TBD held at Warren County ISU Extension & Outreach office.
  • Ackworth Garden Club Plant Sale on Saturday, May 16th held at Moats Park.
  • Indianola Parks & Rec office after TBD.
