Building Your Leadership Effectiveness

With a tighter focus on the bottom line and streamlining organizations, it’s easy to forget about the people-part of the business, but as a leader, a big chunk of your job description is managing performance, developing your team and staff, and helping them grow, as employees and as people.

Divided into six sections that get at key pieces of leadership, this series leaves room to grow and reflect between courses to get the most out of your time, money, and learning.  Experience the series next to other leaders like you—get coaching insight from them, share your successes, and get advice on challenges from leadership expert Gary Walljasper.

Module I: Developing and Applying Self Awareness—Look at leadership with a new lens, and find out what’s important to you, and how you can accommodate what’s important to the people you’re leading.

Module II: Coaching in Relationships—Coaching conversations can happen anytime, anywhere, about anything; take full advantage of those opportunities to help you and your employees grow together.

Module III: Giving and Receiving Feedback—Sharing feedback that focuses on clarity and intent will be the difference between being perceived as a “teller” vs. a “coach”. Conversely, being open to receiving feedback without bias can be challenging. Learn tips and techniques in how you prepare for and give feedback, as well as how to be present and compartmentalize distraction and bias when receiving it.

Module IV: Driving Performance—What does your team need from you in order for them to do their best? How can you manage performance reviews, and what are some specific, tactical things you can do to prepare and ensure others know what is expected of them, and how they are doing against what is expected of them.

Module V: Delegating Effectively—As a leader, what can you get off your plate to make room for the big fish that no one else can fry? Find applicable tools and methods to delegate in a manner that creates clarity, empowerment, and engagement.

Module VI: Developing People—Create buy-in from your workforce and prepare your organization for future opportunities and challenges by investing in your team.
