| 10/20/2025 | Head on out to the Annett Nature Center for our annual Halloween Hike. This non-scary hike is educational and fun for the whole family. You will be guided along the trail to meet different characters. After the hike you can make a craft and enjoy some treats. The cost is $5 per person and those under 3 are free. **Registration is required. **Hikes leave the nature center at 6:30, 6:40, 6:50, 7:00, 7:10, 7:20, and 7:30. **Please arrive at the Annett Nature Center 5-10 minutes early to get checked in. The hikes leave the nature center at the scheduled times. In order to maintain the schedule throughout the entire night, we will not hold hikes. If you arrive late for your scheduled time, we will do our best to get you into the next open time, however that may be at the end of the night. | 10/26/2025 | Annual Holiday Open House Moves to OctoberFor the past twelve years, The Edge of the Woods Raspberry Farm in Indianola has hosted its annual holiday Open House prior to Thanksgiving Day, gradually expanding the event to include Friday evening and Saturday festivities. This year, Beth and Rick are excited to announce a change in tradition: the customer appreciation Open House will now take place on weekends throughout October.Event Dates and TimesThe Open House begins on Saturday, October 4th, and continues every weekend through Sunday, November 4th. Guests are invited to visit on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and on Sundays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.Activities and OfferingsVisitors will have the opportunity to enjoy holiday shopping, stock up on farm-made jams and specialty products, and sample some of the farm’s favorite offerings. | 10/30/2025 | This October, we’re kicking off a brand-new tradition: Movies on the Farm! Gather your friends and family to join throughout the month as we project some of our favorite fall films outdoors at our ceremony site (east side of the building, near the parking lot). Settle in under the stars, sip some cider, and enjoy the perfect fall evening at the farm. If you’re planning to grab dinner at the Ciderhouse beforehand, we recommend making a reservation in advance. Outside food and drinks aren’t permitted, but we’ll have concessions available at the entrance of our Event Venue, inside the Farm Market, and of course through our full-service Ciderhouse. ____ Here's a few good things to note: We will release updates on a weekly basis on which movie we will premiere. Movies will generally begin at 7pm. With darker evenings ahead, the start times may shift throughout the month. Check our social media for confirmation or call 515-217-0027 for updates! This event is weather dependent. Movie Admission is FREE - no extra tickets are needed to join the fun! We recommend bringing blankets or camp chairs for seating (first come, first served). Like many other greater Des Moines metro communities, this move forgoes the longtime Beggars’ Night tradition on October 30.
