Join in the fun when WHO RVTV visits Indianola on September 9th on the Indianola Downtown Square!  Wear your favorite team gear (Iowa, Iowa State, Indianola or Simpson), grab some friends & prepare to be entertained!

The WHO-Channel 13 crew will be escorted by the Indianola pep band around 11:30 am to the Downtown Square. 

West Hill Brewing Company will host a radio show from 1-3 p.m.  WHO-Channel 13 will broadcast live from the Square at 4 p.m., 5 p.m. & 6 p.m.  Trainwreck will take the downtown stage at 7 p.m. and play until 10 p.m.  Bag chairs are welcome. No tents or outside food or drink will be allowed.

For our football lovers, plan to attend the high school football game where the Indianola Indians take on rival Pella Dutch beginning at 7 pm.  WHO-Channel 13 will do their final broadcast after the football game.

You don't want to miss this!

Election day is September 13, and all voting will be at the American Legion, 105 West 1st Ave, 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. 

- You can vote early at the Auditor's Office in the Warren County Administration Building, 301 N. Buxton, Suite 101, from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.

- Satellite voting will also be available Friday, September 9 from 1 - 7 p.m. at the IHS District Office Board Room, 1301 East Second Avenue.

- Absentee ballot request forms are available but must be turned into the Auditor's office by Friday, September 2, 4:30 p.m.

You're invited to the annual Prairie Picnic to support environmental education programming and exhibits at the Annett Nature Center. The Prairie Picnic will be held at the Annett Nature Center, 15565 118th Ave, on September 17, from 5 - 8 p.m.

You are invited to the Murder-Mystery Dinner, Set Sail for Disaster, put on by The Local Vine! This Murder-Mystery Dinner sets place on a cruise ship, the Elizabeth May, run by Captain Michael Von Ammon. Set Sail for Disaster is a Murder-Mystery Party wherein the guests will take on the roles of Captain Michael Von Ammon, his guests, and staff. You will play one of those characters throughout the course of the event. At some point during the evening, one of the guests will be “killed” by one of the other participants, and the remainder of the evening will be spent piecing together clues in an attempt to determine who the murderer is. Food and drink will be provided for additional cost throughout the event.You absolutely do not want to miss this event!

Open to all children K - 12 who reside in Warren County, IA

Did you grow the biggest pumpkin or giant sunflower in the county over the summer? If you completed the online registration form by June 30, 2022, dropped off your completed form at McCoy True Value Hardware, and picked up your seed packets then find out by weighing and measuring your entry.

Judging for the contest will be held at the Warren County Log Cabin Days festival on Saturday, Sept. 24th with check in from 11:30 am - Noon. Judging will be completed and winners announced after check in closed but no later than 12:30 pm. Ribbons and premiums will be awarded..

The 11th annual Indianola Classic Car and Truck Show and Shine will be on  August 27 and September 24 from 4-7 p.m in the TruBank parking lot, 1901 West 2nd Avenue, Indianola, Iowa. The Simpson College String Artist Series 

Inaugural Recital 

            The Simpson College Music Department is proud to announce the establishment of a recital series to showcase the artistry of accomplished professional string musicians who have a connection to Iowa.  The inaugural recital of the Simpson College String Artist Series will present Linda Swanson, guest artist violinist, and Dr. Jin Park, pianist, on Friday, September 30th, at 7:00 pm in Lekberg Hall in the Amy Robertson Music Center.  The recital is free and open to the public.  Younger audience members are invited to attend.    

            This recital continues Simpson's long tradition of supporting outstanding musicians who enrich the lives of audiences through the expression of their musical gifts.  Simpson is proud to give voice to these musicians and to recognize them for their outstanding contribution to the musical arts and to the quality of life in Iowa.
