Visitors swarm to the balloon field of Indianola by the thousands every summer. And they leave awestruck. The National Balloon Classic spans nine incredible days. More than 150 hot air balloons take to the skies in a burst of brilliant color as pilots from around the world test their skills in pursuit of points, prizes, and the championship titles.
There’s live music and activities every night as well as plenty of food and fun for the whole family! And there are more than just hot air balloons taking to the sky — watch for skydivers, fireworks, and a display featuring giant kites.
For music lineup, Balloon Classic Schedule and more visit the Experience Indianola or National Balloon Classic Website!
In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!
During the National Balloon Classic on July 27 and August 3, Indianola's yoga in the park program moves to Memorial Balloon Field. Let your spirit soar as you stretch and move under a sky filled with hot air balloons.
This experience is FREE thanks to instructors Molly Sivertsen (July 27) and Haylee Skow (August 10).
